Tectyl 848DHF is a solvent cutback, water displacing, soft wax/oil base corrosion preventative compound. Its film is thin, extremely light, oily and translucent.

Long-Term Protection
Tectyl 848DHF is an excellent indoor preservative for phosphated or un phosphated machined parts, automotive parts, crankshafts, bar and drill stock, and other ferrous parts. Tectyl 848DHF has active water displacing properties and will quickly displace water and water/oil emulsions from metals. It can be used as an anti-spatter compound for welding operations. Tectyl 848DHF is miscible with lubricating oils and generally need not be removed from protected components of these systems.

Application of Tectyl 848DHF Corrosion Preventative Compound

• Ensure uniform consistency prior to use.
• Continuous stirring or thinning is generally not required.
• If product thickens due to cold storage or loss of solvent during use, add only aliphatic mineral spirits and only if necessary to restore consistency.
• Apply at 50 – 95°F (10 – 35°C) by spray, dip, or brush.
